In a Nutshell: A short psychological drama about a woman on death row. Unreliable narrator, but not in the way you would expect. A fast read, but shouldn’t be read too fast lest you miss the clues. A clever story with a slightly confusing ending that makes brilliant sense once you ponder over it. A great start to the Alibis collection. AUTHOR: L. Ryan Storms GENRE: YA Romance/Fantasy. PUBLICATION DATE: April 15, 2025 RATING: 4.5 stars. In a Nutshell: A YA Romance with elements of magical realism. Well-written and loveable characters ( I hope you realise what a miracle this compliment is, coming from me for a YA novel ), fast pace, good plot, sweet romance without getting too mushy or cringey. I took it for the magical realism, but I ended up liking all of it. Much recommended. In a Nutshell: A children’s comic about a bumbling “fairy” forced to turn godmother for Cinderella. Whimsical, witty, and wonderful! Love how it adds its own twist to the Cinderella story. I had great fun reading this. Much recommended. Plot Preview: Fairy, a trenchcoat-wearing rat ( or mouse – not sure ), works as a fixer of fairy tales. When something goes wrong in stories, he steps into the book and sorts out the issue. Rather, he claims to do so. His latest client Mouse discovers, much to her surprise and dismay, that Fairy has no idea how to resolve most messes, and that he wings the solutions as he goes along.
