Prilla's Talent - Disney Comics Group - ★★.¼

SERIES: Disney Fairies Graphic Novel #1
GENRE: Children's Graphic Novel.
PUBLICATION DATE: April 13, 2010.
RATING: 2.25 stars.
꧁ First graphic novel of the Disney Fairies series ꧂
❁ Contains four stories focussing on Prilla, a fairy with a rare talent that is only mentioned but not explored in this book. Tinkerbell is also present in every story, though not always in the main role.
❁ Has several book-only characters who were not a part of the Tinkerbell movies. Tinkerbell, Terence, and Vidia are the only main movie characters also present in these stories. (I miss the other movie characters!)
❁ The first three stories are decent, none too memorable. Utterly disappointed by the last story as it teaches children something quite stupid.
❁ Simple text, easy to read for the target age group.
❁ Mixed feelings about the graphics. The colours and background nature sketches are great but the characters are a hit-or-miss. Why give Terence such a 'cool stud' kind of look? It doesn't match his personality at all!
❁ Officially for ages 6-10 years. I read this with my younger daughter who was so bored that she has decided to ditch me for the next Tinkerbell graphic novel. (Little Madame forgot that she is the one who made me get this combo volume from the library. 😒)
❁ Story-wise ratings:
🧚♀️ Prilla's Talent - ⭐⭐⭐
🧚♀️ Like the Wind - ⭐⭐✨
🧚♀️ The Sound of Friendship - ⭐⭐⭐
🧚♀️ Best of Friends - ✨
Overall average: 2.25 stars.
I can't believe a Tinkerbell book let me down! I loved the movies so much that I was expecting the same high from the books. Hoping that the next book will go better.
This was a library read. Not a must-read; just good for a library borrow.
