When Harry Belafonte sang "Man Smart (Woman Smarter)", I'm sure he was only half-kidding. 😛

This is a story about one super-smart woman who gave it back to her cheating husband in a way that no one expected. You might have read Roald Dahl for his children's fiction. Now give this short story a try. It's much more satisfying to the senses, possibly more so if you are a woman. 😏 I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Fabulous atmosphere and research. Graphic abuse, though it’s never sensationalised. Compelling but also highly disturbing. Definitely recommended, but only when you are in a strong headspace. Plot Preview: 1941. Twenty-four-year-old Ruth Foster and fifteen-year-old Stella Temple find themselves enrolled at The State Industrial Farm Colony for Women in Kinston, North Carolina. Stella views it as a kind of escape while Ruth considers it a prison. AUTHORS: Various GENRE: Fantasy Anthology RATING: 3.05 stars. In a Nutshell: A decent anthology set around the theme of summer. Some really good stories herein, but overall, this wasn’t as delightful as the earlier collection of ‘winter’ stories. This book is the second of a planned four-book anthology series, based on the four seasons. The first book, ‘Once Upon a Winter’ , came out in November 2021 and had seventeen stories set in winter. Now we get this summer-themed anthology with fifteen stories. Spring and Autumn will be the remaining two seasons in the series. Summer is my least favourite season. A tropical summer drains out all my energy and leaves me longing for the refreshing Indian monsoon. As the title suggests, this debut collection of seventeen stories focusses on women. Women from varied backgrounds, varied familial situations, and varied age groups.
